everything awesome

Comic con international news update from July 2014:
by Adam Blasucci
Everything I’ve seen so far online at ComicCon International looks excellent. Batman V Superman looks to be still be in the good hands of Zach Schneider. Ben Affleck really looks like Batman and Bruce Wayne. The Cape and Cowell look awesome. The new pictures of Ben Affleck in the Cowell look great really reminiscent of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. The short leaked footage shows Batman in the famous Dark Knight Returns armor with glowing white eyes and pulling down a tarp revealing the bat signal. These scenes seemed to be taking directly from Miller’s iconic story.
The revealed photo of Wonder Woman looks excellent like she’s ready for battle.
All the actors standing together with their director was excellent. This truly was a surprise because most of the media was saying it would not be a huge film presence, but they were wrong. DC and Warner Bros. really pulled off a great 75th anniversary gift for fans and the Cape Crusader alike.
Marvel’s Ant-Man sounds promising even though there have been some complications with director Edgar Wright leaving the project because of creative differences with Marvel. Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd are great actors and seen to have great chemistry. I like the idea of passing on the mantle and legacy of a hero to a new hero. and a new Keeping my fingers crossed it’s a fun and exciting movie.

Here are the film titles and dates:
Ant-Man sounds real promising after the original director leaving because of creative differences between himself and Marvel.
George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road the newest installment in his Mad Max series starring Tom Hardy. Really looks like a exciting, thrilling 1000 hp ride right through the apocalyptic outback.

Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment announced slate of films from 2016 through 2020.
From October 2014 by Adam Blasucci
In a massive expansion of the Studio’s DC Entertainment-branded content, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema will release a slate of at least 10 movies-as well as stand-alone Batman and Superman films-from 2016 through 2020 that expands this prized universe of characters:
here’s the breakdown of their plans:
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
“Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)
“Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)
“Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
“The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller (2018)
“Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa (2018)
“Shazam” (2019)
“Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
“Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)
“Green Lantern” (2020)

During a shareholder meeting today, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara formally announced plans for a Justice League movie, confirming one of Hollywood’s worst-kept secrets.

The film, directed by Zack Snyder, will be divided into two parts.

He also surprised the industry with announcements of more than half a dozen movies including Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, Green Lantern and Cyborg.
Four a-list stars are in talks to join Suicide Squad, which will be directed by David Ayer, as announced already. That film is planned for 2016, after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Tsujihara called it “a gritty story of a team of supervillains who take on black ops missions for the U.S. government.

2017 will see the relase of both Wonder Woman and the first Justice League film.

“We’re bringing back the cast of Batman V Superman with a cast of other well-known and highly-anticipated superheroes,” said the CEO of Justice League. “Wonder Woman is an iconic female superhero fans have been anticipating for many years.”

2018 will bring The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, and Aquaman. With all of this new information, they finally did confirm that Jason Momoa will play the role.

“Fans among the world will become more acquainted with [The Flash] through our hit show on The CW,” said Tsujihara of marketing The Flash.

Shazam, which had been expected by many to be the first film post-Batman V Superman, will actually not hit theaters until 2019, the same year as Justice League Part 2.

While they don’t yet have release dates, he also confirmed that Cyborg is in development with Batman V Superman’s Ray Fisher and that they’re working on a Green Lantern movie again. Those films are listed on the schedule above as 2020.

Tsujihara also confirmed that the studio is working on stand-alone Batman and Superman films, although no release date was mentioned for them.

From August 2014 by Adam Blasucci from the press release about Martin Scorsese planned Ramons film biography.
Martin Scorsese is planning to direct a biopic about the granddaddys of punk The Ramones due sometime in 2016.
You can’t go wrong with him directing an interesting story about an interesting group of punks. Can’t wait to see what he does.

My thoughts on the Avengers: Age of Ultron & and Marvel slate of films. By Adam Blasucci 12/1/2014
Here are my thoughts on the trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. It looks awesome. Bigger than the original. James Spader’s voice is threatening, scary mechanical. He is a good villain. CGI motion capture of Spader is very realistic. Avengers to fight an epic adventure. The Hulk and the Hulk Buster Iron Man armored in action looks great. I love that use of the haunting version of the Pinocchio song “I Have No Strings On Me” it’s a great allusion to Ultron wanting to be a real boy not a robot and being free from his Creator Iron Man. You could say it’s a subversive twisted take on the classic Disney song. Only made possible because Marvel is now owned by Disney. It’s hard to see but The Vision can be glanced in the trailer. There are also hints to future heroes included in the Marvel cinematic universe like Klaw the Black Panthers mortal enemy played by Andy Sircus (he’s sure making his rounds in every major fantasy franchise Lord Of the Rings, The Planet of the Apes, The Hobbit and the next Star Wars installment). The Black Panthers is making his official appearance in Capt. America: Civil War.
2015:
May 1: The Avengers: Age of Ultron
July 17: Ant-Man

2016:
May 6: Captain America 3: Civil War
November 4: Doctor Strange

2017:
May 5: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
July 28: Thor: Ragnarok
November 3: Black Panther

2018:
May 4: The Avengers: Infinity War, Part One
July 6: Captain Marvel
November 2: Inhumans

2019:
May 3: The Avengers: Infinity War, Part Two
it’s a very exciting time to be a comic book fan again from now until 2020 yes finally.

My thoughts on the Star Wars: Episode Seven The Force Awakens. Adam
Some people may be lukewarm to the new Star Wars trailer release in theaters and online simultaneously Friday. Well I’m excited it looks excellent. The new three pronged Sith or INQUISITOR light saber is threatening and scary and now surely has a sword appearance reminiscent of Excalibur King Arthur’s legendary sword.
The X- Wings flying over the planet surface was an awesome sight along with the Tie Fighters and the reappearance after 37 years of The Millennium Falcon brought you back to your childhood. This time around Star Wars is now a fully ethnic world with people of color. But no one the aliens and humanoids really in my opinion represent our world perfectly. Great job JJ keep it up.

The Evil Dead comes to TV: from October 2014 from DeadCentral.com
Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell will both return to their cult favorite horror series Evil Dead for a new series on Starz.

The series, titled Ash vs. Evil Dead, will see Campbell reprise his role as Ash amidst a new Deadite invasion.

The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes, debuting in 2015. Raimi will direct the pilot, which will be co-written by himself, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy.

“Starz first worked with Sam and Rob on Spartacus, and we are thrilled to be back in business with them,” said Carmi Zlotnik, managing director of Starz. “With Sam writing and directing and Bruce Campbell returning to the screen, we are certain the show will give Evil Dead fans around the world the fix they’ve been craving.”

“Evil Dead has always been a blast. Bruce, Rob, and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the next chapter in Ash’s lame, but heroic saga. With his chainsaw arm and his ‘boomstick,’ Ash is back to kick some monster butt. And brother, this time there’s a truckload of it,” said Raimi.

“I’m really excited to bring this series to the Evil Dead fans worldwide — it’s going to be everything they have been clamoring for: serious deadite ass-kicking and plenty of outrageous humor,” said Campbell.
