: directed by Kevin Smith
starring: Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osmond, Harley Quin Smith, Lily Rose Depp, and Genesis Rodriguez

Kevin Smith’s new film Tusk is one of his best films to date.
I loved the jokes about Kevin Smith career throughout the film. The Canadian jokes were excellent.

Michael Parks outdid his last role in Smith’s Red State. He played an elegantly spoken, raconteur, mad scientist.
Part philosopher, Dr. Monroe/Frankenstein and Hannibal Lector. I enjoy how Kevin decided to make Justin Long’s character not always so sympathetic as a womanizing, cheating, cynical and mean. Sometimes you almost think he deserves being turned into a walrus.
It was fun hearing the Fleetwood Mac song Tusk in the action packed horrific climax. The special effects were excellent you really believe Justin Long’s Wallace was transformed into a human walrus. The comedy and horror, the strange acting, human characters and weird situations and highly ironic sad story made this a great and enjoyable film.

I enjoyed that Kevin had his daughter Harley Quinn and her best friend Lily Rose Depp Johnny Depp daughter play the two convenience store clerks in Canada it’s almost karmic because directed the movie Clerks was one in a previous life. And speaking of Johnny Depp he was the un recognizable goofy and aloof French-Canadian inspector Clouseau (The Pink Panther) of the piece. Kevin Smith is also making two more films with his daughter and her friend and Johnny Depp all reprising their characters to make his up north trilogy.
